Frank & Scott: the week in review

Loads happened this week. We had an earthquake. We didn't feel it, actually, so I may not be able to claim having it in my week, but give a guy a break. I have fans to please. We discovered a great shop for mens' vintage called Hornets. It's amazing. We'll be going back. Everything fit me, and the jackets were impeccable. Think 1930's tuxedos with tails, tweeds, shoes and so forth. Very cool, and excellent condition. For some reason, they managed to keep that foul vintage smell out of their stuff. Well done, Mr. Hornet. The big news, is that LISA is coming for a visit in two days! We're really happy about that. She'll be our first real visitor, so we're rolling out the red carpet. Went to Argos to buy a new aero bed clone (it comes with a built in sleeping bag-it's connected to the inflatable part. It's odd in theory but it's pretty much Scott's dream lounge situation: he can watch television from the floor, whilst tucked away in "bed.") Then we headed to John Lewis and bought a chair for the living room, and a couple lamps to add to the character of the place. We went to Waitrose and bought some gluten free goodies for her arrival. Earlier today, we went on a walk and ended up at Kensington palace which is pretty close to where we live. We didn't pay the £12 entry fee, but we did take the opportunity to check out the gift shop. It felt like Royal Prostitution. Loads of overpriced tacky souvenirs like cocktail napkins with crowns on them and postcards of the Windsors and tea towels with "I WENT TO KENSINGTON PALACE" on them. It was pretty tacky. And that's it for now. Looking forward to adding entries from our trip to Paris with Lisa and Carla next weekend. Oooh! I almost forgot to add: we both got our first paychecks and I discovered that we CAN have cable here, so we are looking into it. One more shot of peacocks. I told you there were peacocks here.
