It all went as planned. With the help of Emily and Johnny - two soon-to-be-married Irish friends (with a roomy new car) we happily took leave of the hideous Point West, and moved into our new, far more suitable, apartment. It couldn't be nicer. I met with our landlords a couple days ago and they were great, telling me all about how things worked and informing me about quirky details of the place. Scott and I spent most of today shopping for stuff to make life here better: an electric kettle, some coffee mugs, wine glasses, groceries, a rug, sheets and pillows, etc. Here's a collage imgae which gives an impression of the place. It's got loads of character, including 1920's detailing, trompe l'oeil wood paneling, and transom windows.
